The International Criminal Court (ICC) has responded to the Hewler-based Kurdish Women’s Relations Office (Navenda Pêwendiyan a Jinên Kurd – REPAK) on their appeal for action against the war crimes committed in North Kurdistan (E/SE Turkey) by Turkish state forces. The ICC stated that the application will be reviewed and processed.

Last month, REPAK sent a letter to Judge Fernández de Gurmendi, ICC President for 2015-2018, calling for action against the war crimes the Turkish state and AKP government is perpetrating in te Kurdish region.

An official answer by the International Criminal Court says REPAK’s letter has been received by the ICC which will review and process the application before submitting a decision to REPAK with its decision.

The Court noted that this process wouldn’t mean initiation of an investigation into the reports.
