We, the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), have decided to organize a conference, as a result of efficient work and discussions we held with the Kurdish friendship group at the EP (European Parliament), regarding the genocide against the Kurdish people during Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship in the south of Kurdistan.
The main issue at this conference will be the genocide against the people of the Kurdish city HALABJA, where thousands were killed by chemical weapons in 1988. Issues such as the ANFAL will be discussed, too. Undoubtedly, the massacre campaigns in general will be another issue that will be discussed at this conference.
The main aim of this conference is to put the genocide in Kurdistan on the agenda of the world and also to demand that the European Parliament and the European Union recognize this genocide.
As we are aware of your valuable studies into these issues, we hereby cordially invite you to attend the conference on March 16th, 2011 in the European Parliament.
There is no conference fee but due to limited funding the conference committee unfortunately cannot pay the cost of your travel.
We hope you can accept our invitation and look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible. Please send us your flight schedule and we will try to arrange transportation from the airport. Let us also know if you book your own hotel or if you want us to book a room for you.
Please note that in order to enter the European Parliament, details about your full name and your date of birth is required. Please include this information in your response to this invitation.
Enclosed, please find an "Draft Program of the Conference"
