The Turkish oppositional journalist and editor of Info-Turk, Dogan Ozguden, based in Brussels, has been attacked by Turkish extremist after to publish a scandal speech by the Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gönül who praised the policy of deportation of Armenian and Greek-Pontios in Turkey.
Journalist Dogan Ozguden attacked by Turkish extremist
Ararat News -Publishing (ANP) – Roni Alasor, 26/11/2008 / Brussels – The Turkish oppositional journalist-writer, and editor of Info-Turk, Dogan Ozguden, based in Brussels, has been attacked by Turkish extremist after to publish a scandal speech by the Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gönül who praised the policy of deportation and killing of million of Armenian and Greeks-Pontius.
According the Turkish journalist and media, during a ceremony at the Turkish Embassy in Brussels on the occasion of the anniversary of Kemal Ataturk’s death, the Minister Gönül said that "the establishment of a Turkish nation has been achieved thanks to this (deportation and killing) policy ordered by Atatürk".
According same sources, the Turkish Ambassador in Brussels, Fuat Tanlay, read also a poem where he were praising the Turkish flag and full of hatred: "I dig the grave of those who do not watch you with my eyes. I ruin the nest of birds which fly without greeting you".
So long, the Turkish officially has not denied the both speech in Brussels made by the Turkish high level representatives.
However, after the highlighting this scandal speech in Info-Türk in November 11, 2008, the Turkish oppositional journalist and chief editor of Info-Turk, Dogan Ozguden has been targeted by the "deep state" controlled ultra-nationalist media.
On November 13, 2008, the nationalist site Gündem, quoting the entirety of the flash, attacked Info-Türk as follows:
"As you can see, the enemies of Turk do not sleep. According to them, commemorate our leaders in to praise, tell them your commitment and be proud of our history, is a criminal act. It is not at all difficult to understand at what level they are far from the love of the nation and homeland."
Same day, on November 13, 2008, an international conference was held at the European Parliament in Brussels to commemorate the Massacre of the Kurdish population in Dersim, carried out in 1938 by the Turkish Army.
With Armenian, Kurdish and Assyrian democratic organizations, the Info-Türk Foundation supported the holding of this conference with a joint statement.
The next day, on November 14, 2008, one other Turkish site based in Brussels, Beltürk attacked Info-Türk in the following terms, referring to the letter of thanks sent by the Journalists’ Association of Turkey (TGC) to Ozguden for his distinguished service rendered the Turkish press for over 50 years.
According the Turkish Journalist Association (TGS), there are about 50 legal proceedings against Dogan Ozguden. This is why he cannot return to Turkey.
