Not only Kurds, but also Turkish democrats and socialists were targeted by the state. Thousands of undetermined killings and unacceptable tortures in the jails created a resistance against the state which produces of the 12 September Military Coup. PKK was one of these resistance groups. Besides, political parties which focus on the Kurdish Issue by the name of democratization were closed by the Constitutional Court. HEP, DEP, ÖZDEP, HADEP, DEHAP and DTP were closed in order to providing "unity of the state".
