Suicide bombers targeted the Capital of the EU and Belgium. As a result of these attacks 34 innocent civilians lost their lives and 250 people were injured. The so-called ‘Islamic State’ (IS) has claimed these vicious attacks. We condemn these attacks against humanity and all those that support them. We offer our condolences to the loved ones of all those who lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery to all those injured. These attacks were not only against the people of Belgium, but against all humanity. All those that want to defend the honour of humanity should stand shoulder to shoulder.

A joint struggle against IS should be the joint responsibility of all governments and institutions. As it is well known, IS has committed and continues to commit horrific massacres in the Middle East, Syria and Kurdistan. The Kurds and the peoples of the Middle East have suffered grave tragedies at the hands of IS. The massacre suffered by Ezidi Kurds of Sinjar are a particularly dark time in the history of humanity.

The individuals, institutions and states that support IS are equally responsible for these atrocities. Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey are responsible for supporting IS. The Turkish President Erdogan and Turkish Prime Minister Davutoglu are supporting terrorists on the one hand, and at the same time blackmailing the EU with refugees and extort billions of Euros for apparently giving refugee’s shelter, but they are using the money to further their own interests and continue to support IS.

Furthermore, Erdogan and the AKP, under the leadership of Davutoglu and in cooperation with IS are carrying out massacres across Kurdistan in Efrin (Syria), Kobani (Syria), Şengal (Iraq),Qandil (Iraq), and in Turkish part of Kurdistan in Cizre, Sur, Nusaybin, İdil, Derik, Şırnak and Gever. In these towns and cities, the Turkish army and police together with IS forces are conducting joint operations. They have massacred thousands of Kurdish civilians including babies, children and the elderly.

Unfortunately, rather than supporting the Kurds who have effectively fought against IS terror, the EU has fallen victim to Erdogan’s the refugee blackmail and is handing billions of Euros of taxes paid by European citizens to Erdogan’s IS supporting state. This is strengthening IS.

The only way to stop IS terrorism is to put in place sanctions measures against the governments that support IS and give support to the people that are actually defending themselves and the honour of humanity by fighting IS. The EU and UN must fulfil this responsibility as soon as possible.

Turkey’s war against the Kurds is weakening the struggle against IS. Turkey allows for easy crossing of the border into Syria and is extending the life of IS.

We call on all European governments to condemn Turkey’s state terror.

We also call for economic and military sanctions to be imposed on Turkey.

Once again, express our heartfelt condolence to the families of innocent people who were killed by the Brussels attacks and we express our solidarity with them and with the wounded.
