Saleh Muslim calls on world public to break down the wall of silence
Co-chairman of the PYD (Democratic Union Party), Mohamed Saleh Muslim, has released a letter on behalf of the people who live in the cantons of Rojava to mark the World Peace Day, September 1.

Turkish government spokesperson Bülent Arınç made a statement following a cabinet meeting, saying all authority regarding the process of resolution had been concentrated with the Prime Minister.

UN: At least 1,420 killed in Iraq in August
A total of at least 1,420 Iraqis were killed and another 1,370 were injured in acts of terrorism and violence in August , according to casualty figures released today by UNAMI (United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq).
Thousands met for peace in Istanbul
Thousands of people protested a ban on a World Peace Day demonstration in Istanbul yesterday on the grounds that it would disrupt the traffic. Thousands of people gathered in Kadıköy to call for peace on 1 September, World Peace Day. Speaking on behalf of the rally organising committee, Dr. Deniz Mardin from the Istanbul branch of TTB, said: “Imperialist power groups are using ISIS for their own purposes.”
15 Yezidi Kurds massacred in Jaddala village
It came out that ISIS gangs committed yet another massacre in Cidalê (Jaddala), one of the villages located in the skirts of the Sinjar mountains where a number of elderly people from the Yezidi community continue to remain despite the ongoing ISIS attacks for a month now, refusing to flee the gangs and choosing to “welcome the death” in their lands.
YPG announces outcome of Jazaa operation
The YPG (People’s Protection Units) Press Centre has issued details of a comprehensive operation it carried out on 30 August on ISIS gang positions in Jazaa, where there has been fierce fighting since 19 August.
Yezidi Kurds will live in communes, not camps
In the city of Batman in North Kurdistan rehabilitation centres for 3,000 Yezidi Kurds fleeing ISIS attacks in Sinjar are being set up.
First New University To Open In Rojava
A new university based on an alternative education model will open in Rojava, according to a report from ANHA carried by Özgür Gündem. The university – the Mesopotamian Social Sciences Academy – will be located in Qamişlo in the Cizîrê Canton of Rojava and begin to hold classes this September.

Amed Metropolitan Municipal co-mayor Gültan Kışanak spoke at a meeting in Izmir, pointing out that people in the west of Turkey are not aware of the danger of ISIS, saying: “we hadn’t realised until last week how big the threat posed by ISIS is. People in the region are experiencing severe trauma.”

Swiss Socialist Party Federal MP Beat Jans assessed ISIS attacks on Rojava and South Kurdistan for ANF. Jans said the struggle of the Kurdish Freedom Movement had disrupted all the plans of the forces supporting ISIS for their own economic interests, adding that the European Union (EU) had been wrong to delay taking action. Jans said “ISIS will definitely be defeated by the PKK.”
Kartal: ISIS policy didn’t work out
A public meeting was held in the Amsterdam city of Netherlands on Monday and attended by dozens of people. UN: Over 191,000 people killed in Syrian civil war
An updated analysis carried out by data specialists on behalf of the UN Human Rights Office has led to the compilation of a list of 191,369 cases of individuals reported killed in Syria between March 2011 and the end of April 2014, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay announced Friday.
