You are very welcome to join us on Friday 22 Mars 2024 (7 PM – 10 PM), Stadhuis Antwerp, Leyszaal, (Grote Markt 1, 2000 Antwerpen)

We would like to invite you to our reception on the occasion of Newroz.
This year the reception will take place in the recently renovated city hall of Antwerp. More specifically in the beautiful Leys Hall with its impressive murals. These paintings illustrate the acquired freedoms of the city before 1794.

Quite some symbolism to have this famous Leys Hall at our disposal. Because for Kurds, and other peoples from the Mesopotamia region (Armenians, Assyrians, Suryoyo, Chaldeans, Arameans and all religions), the Newroz themes are central in the context of an ongoing struggle for survival, recognition, the right to own language and culture, freedom and peace.

We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy our regional delicacies, drinks, a word of welcome and some traditional music.

Can you participate? Please let us know in advance by email or telephone (see our coordinates below).

If you come by car, we recommend the “Parking Grote Markt”, accessible via Ernest Van Dijckkaai, 3.
