September 12, 2010 is the 30th anniversary of the 1980 Military Coup, a new phase of the militarisation process in all fields of the country. It is also the date of a referandum on the partial revision of the 1982 Constitution imposed by the military junta 28 years ago.
Whatsoever be the result of this referendum, this militarist constitution will remain in force with its fascist and racist articles imposing the superiority of the Turkish race and denying fundamental rights of the Kurdish people and other national and religious minorities of Turkey.
Already in 1986, Info-Türk had published Black Book on the Militarist "Democracy" in Turkey, written by its chief editor Doğan Özgüden, with the purpose of unveiling the military junta’s crimes against humanity and the fascist character of the militarist "democracy" of the 1982 Constitution imposed by the military.
On the casion of the 30th Anniversary of the coup, Info-Türk now publishes the French version of this historical document, translated by Bahar Kimyongür, with Özgüden’s new preface underlining the fact that a real democratisation in Turkey can only be made by a total suppression of the 1982 Constition, not with a few cosmetic changes.
