Welcome to The Kurdish Institute

Movement for human and peoples rights

We raise awareness among the public in Flanders and Brussels on human and peoples rights based on our unique knowledge and expertise about the Kurdish regions
We are a solidarity movement and also the voice of oppressed peoples in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran and the South Caucasus

We strive for connection in culture and attach great importance in respecting cultural diversity

“Democratic Confederalism,” conceived and theorized by Murray Bookchin, was subsequently further elaborated by Abdullah Öcalan. Based on this political concept, Öcalan sees a peaceful solution to persistent conflicts in the Kurdish regions

The fundamental problems of the Middle East are deeply rooted in the class civilization. They have tightened with the global crisis of the capitalist modernity. This modernity and its claim to dominance cannot offer any solutions not to mention a long-term perspective for the Middle-East region. The future is democratic confederalism(Abdullah Öcalan)

Who are the Kurds?

The Kurds are one of the largest stateless nations in the world. They possess a diverse and rich culture which they wish to express fully, a desire all people deserve. However, this human right to experience is not given to all.

The story of the Kurds and their neighbors in the Middle East, Eurasia and the Caucasus creates empathy and deep understanding. How they experience the heart of their culture.

Without a Nation.
