PYD Co-President Salih Muslim has drawn attention to the intensifying ISIS attacks on Kobanê, saying: “whoever is going to act, should do so now. May our people rise up everywhere.” Muslim added they had informed all international bodies about attacks on Kobanê, and that they had remained silent, calling on international forces to make an urgent intervention.
Partiya Yekitiya Demokrat – Democratic Union Party (PYD) Co-President Salih Muslim told ANF that attacks by ISIS gangs were continuing, and that there were clashes in outer neighbourhoods of the town. Muslim added: “YPG, YPJ and the people of Kobanê are putting up a great resistance. Everyone should see this and show solidarity.”
Salih Muslim recalled that the Kurdish people were facing massacre, adding: “The world remains silent, as if in collaboration with these massacres. Everything is taking place in front of them, but they do nothing. We want weapons, but they won’t even sell them to us.”
‘The Kurds should rise up everywhere’
Salih Muslim also condemned the Turkish state for attacking the people waiting at the border, saying: “People worried about their relatives have come to the border. They are attacking them with tear gas. ISIS rockets are falling on this side, but still they collaborate with ISIS. PYD Co-President Muslim added they had informed all international bodies about attacks on Kobanê, saying: “they tell us we are right, but they don’t say anything. The US has bombed some ISIS positions around Kobanê, but it is not enough. If the US was serious, it could repulse them in a short time.”
Salih Muslim called on the Kurdish people to step up their actions, adding: “whoever is going to act, should do so now. May our people rise up everywhere.”
