which were launched on 12 September to force the government to “instantly and without condition” provide the circumstances of PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan’s freedom, health and security, lift the bans and obstacles over mother tongue and meet/respect the democratic rights of Kurdish people.

BDP Batman provincal organization organized a rally as to support the indefinite-irreversible hunger strikes of the imprisoned members of PKK and PAJK, which were launched on 12 September to force the government to “instantly and without condition” provide the circumstances of PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan’s freedom, health and security, lift the bans and obstacles over mother tongue and meet/respect the democratic rights of Kurdish people in Batman. Ten thousands of people cried out “the freedom of Ocalan” in the massive rally and “We won’t remain in silence towards deaths, the demands of prsioners must be accepted.”

The rally was made in front of Farabi Hospital and ten thousands of people joined in the rally and supported the hunger strikers. The police officers brought lots of armoured vehicles and TOMAs around the rally. The photograph of PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan, on which there are Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, a pigeon and the writing of “freedom for Dear Abdullah Ocalan”, was hung to a nearby building. Also, the placards of “Our demands health, security and freedom”, “We salute the resistence of prisoners made for solution”, “Either freedom, or freedom” and “We won’t forget Roboski” were carried and hung to several places.

On the other hand, ten thousands shouted the slogans of “Long live the resistence of zindan”, “Either freedom, or freedom”, “Long live leader Apo” and “Free life on mother tongue”. The flags of PKK and Confederalism were opened, rised in the rally and posters of PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan and some other members of PKK and HPG were opened. There are ten thousands people in the rallly among them BDP co-Chair Selahattin Demirtas, BDP Parliamentarians Ayla Akat, Idris Baluken and Altan Tan, European old Parliamenterian Feleknas Uca, BDP executives and mayors.

Demirtas: We’ll be in streets for those, who lied their bodies into death for us

Speaking in the meeting BDP co-Chair Selahattin Demirtas, “We are in streets, in fields not for these people will die but for providing the health conditions for them. We are trying to rescue from death. The advisers of PM Erdogan, namely the crows of carcass and hooded crow understood this. We are calling upon Kurdish people to close the contants of cars, not to go to school, not to even go shopping. Our comrades have been lying their bodies in the prisons for 46 days for the freedom of us. Then, we must be on fields for them,” said.

The Kurdish prisoners in Turkey are continuing their hunger strike. Please spread the news about the strike. Send the appeal letter to the Turkish consulates, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Secretary General of the United Nations, human rights organizations urging them to act swiftly to ask the Turkish government to meet the basic demands of these prisoners.
