Please find bellow a report detailing the devastating impact of the Turkish military’s bombardment of Cizre, a city of 100,000 in the southeast of the country where the mainly Kurdish residents have been subjected to a round-the-clock curfew for 9 days, during which 21 people have been killed.

The report was written by Melanie Gingell, Margaret Owen and Dr Shatha Beserani, who travelled to Cizre on a fact-finding mission two weeks ago. It considers the impact of the bombardment on the people of Cizre, including women and children. It also states that the curfew was a collective punishment that is prohibited under international law, and that the arbitrary killings of civilians, including women and children, is a clear violation of the right to life.
