We have been acknowledged that the Turkish State issued a research warrant against Kurdish writer Haydar Isik with the request of sending him back to Turkey on charges of being a member of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
It is unacceptable that Haydar Isik be subjected to such a treatment. He defends the fundamental rights of the Kurdish people by its articles, books and as the chairman of the Association for the Reconstruction of Dersim.
Even if the Turkish Interior Ministry’s attempts for Isik’s arrest in Germany fail, he will always remain under a permanent threat
We know very well what Turkey wants to accomplish: To harrass socialists and the defenders of the Kurdish people’s rights in whatsoever country they are living, to restrict their activities and to intimidate them…
Recently, we witnessed the same case when Dogan Özgüden was chosen as a target to menaces.
Today it is Haydar Isik’s turn and no doubt tomorrow they will take as a target another person.
That is why, as expressing our feelings of solidarity with Haydar Isik, we call on all progressive people, democrats and peace activists to react against this kind of pressures.
